Easy Cake Decorating with Jelly Beans

Cheap, yummy and available in every color, jelly beans make great decorations.

Consider the possibilities:

Spell out names and messages

Use as roof tiles, brick or stone.

They can be jewelry, gemstones or pendants on a necklace.

Eyes, nose or mouth for critter cakes

They can make colorful borders .

Create rainbows, flowers, butterflys or other designs and patterns with them.

M&Ms work just as well. I make all sorts of things with them: flowers, butterflies, rainbows, you name it! And the kids love them! Though they do try to pick them off the cake even before the candles are blown…

Encourage kids to create shapes or edges with the jelly beans. They can write their name or initial, create a rainbow or flower and even make eyes and a nose for an animal-themed cake.

I’ve tried it and it was great.My kids love the decoration. It adds color to the cake and it blends with the flavor. You can also try m&m and experiment with the decors. Thanks for the post. It gave me an idea.

Thats’ very cool idea. Children will surely love it because of the colorful effect of jelly beans. It’ be more attractive. You can also create some butterfly or name or even flower on cake using it.

I had never thought about using jelly beans for cake decorating. I tend to use chocolate buttons etc as they aren’t as sweet.

wow! love it. i wanna try this at home i haven’t try yet a cake decorated by any types of jelly. Because mostly I chocolate coated candies or an icing.
